Default b series differences

I did a number of searchs but couldn't really find anything, new to honda motors... so will the experts here please tell me what the differences of the 1.8L b-series motors in detail are? And what engine code corresponds to each? I'm trying to learn so detailed specs are welcome. TIA.

hate to say it, but i think this thread is doomed to responses of "be more specific" and "search"
But i think it would be really cool to have a sticky thread about the minute differences between all of the b series motors and components. good luck with your thread.

b16a: 1.6 liter DOHC VTEC motor, pr3 cast code, 160hp, 3.047" crank, 3.189 bore 10.2:1 cr
b18a: 1.8 liter dohc, pr4 cast code, 130/140hp, 3.504 crank, 3.189 bore, 9.2:1 cr (90-91 130 hp, 92-93 140hp)
b18b: 1.8 liter dohc, p74 cast code, 140 hp, 3.504 crank, 3.189 bore 9.2:1 cr(94-up integra)
b18c (gsr): 1.8 liter dohc vtec, p72 cast code, 170/180hp, 3.433 crank, 3.189 bore (94-up integra USDM-170hp 10:1 cr, jdm 180hp 10.6:1cr)
b18c (ITR): 1.8 liter dohc vtec, p72 block/pr3 head, 195hp, 3.433 crank, 3.189 bore 10.6:1 cr USDM, 11:1 cr JDM (97,98,00,01 integras)
b20b/z: 2.0 liter dohc, p74 cast (i think), 140hp, 3.504 crank, 3.309 bore, 9.2:1 cr (crv)
b17a: 1.7 liter dohc vtec, pr3 cast (i think), 160hp, dont remember crank, 3.189 bore, 10.2:1 cr (92-93 integra gsr)
b16b: 1.6 liter dohc vtec, p72/pr3 cast, 180hp, 3.047 crank, 3.189 bore, 11:1 cr (JDM CTR)
all the motors mentioned above are basically interchanable with parts. the only exception would be the b17 and b16a have a shorter block and doesn't allow crank and rod swaps with the others.

b20a5: 2.0 liter, dohc, dont know cast, 3.740 crank, 82mm bore(whatever that is in inches), 9.2:1 compression (88-89 prelude si)
b20a3: 2.0 liter, sohc, same as above basically accept carb'd engine (88-89 prelude s)
b21a: 2.1 liter, dohc, dont know cast, 3.740 crank, probably 84mm bore (90-91 prelude si)

i can't really remember any others off the top of my head, but thats the basics

OK. next stupid question... can I do a b-series swap to replace my dreaded f motor in my Accord? Will it drop right in or do I have to buy all the mounting parts for it?

normal f-motor replacement is the h motor.... 93-96 h's go for like $2k and those pretty much drop right in. h22a: 2.2 liter dohc vtec, 87mm bore i believe with a 3.740 crank, i dont know cast code, they come from 93-00 preludes.

Just drop in a h22 and use your Stock 5 speed
( it will bolt right up ).

It is best to have a Ex if you are swaping a Vtec engine in --- Just for wiring issues

his car is an auto.... to swap a 5spd. in is gonna be tough. i'd say in all honesty, sell your car cause you can get pretty good money for accords and buy something that'll make life easier like a gsr

I thought about selling it a lot... I'll probably end up doing that and buy an old 92 hatch and do b or if I have the money k swap... but the problem right now is that I don't think I can sell my Accord for a decent about maybe 4500-5000 [who'd want an auto Accord anyway], if I sell it I won't have any money left for mods, only a stock, high mileage civic hb.... so I have to save up for maybe another 6 months so I can buy the car and swap it at the same time.

you can get a moderate mileage 90-93 integra and swap a b16 in for about 3500 all together, 2000 for car 1500 for motor shipped

Bring this back one more time for another noob issue I need clearing up... can someone tell me what the difference between the usdm itr and japan itr tranny vs the japan ctr tranny is? Is it true that the ctr tranny = us itr tranny? Detailed specs with gear ratios would be awesome... TIA.
