What would you consider to be the psi limit for my motor?
I am going to the dyno soon and i wanted to know what would be the mid-safe boost level to run on my setup, (Getting the car tunned)
TURBO sc61 t04s cover .70ar/.68
Setup
Head
Ferrera valves,retainers,guides,springs,locks
5 angle valve job with port polishing
Adj. Cam gears
Stock cams
Block
9:8:1 JE
Crower Billit Rods
Block Gaurd
EMS:
Hondata
Dig 6 MSD
Just post if you need any other information...
YES ITS GOING TO BE FINALY TUNNED....

Injectors
CPR 850cc
Walbro 255 intank
Goals:
to be able to run mid to low 11's
What ever it takes to hit... 11's
Why is it ok to run more psi without a block gaurd ???

im saying that with a good tune the 425-450whp level is relatively safe for your motors build. I wouldn't push it much past 450whp....it could take 18psi, 20psi, 22psi, etc. It really doesn't matter.

Ive seen guys with simliar setup to urs, with no block guard. Stock sleeves. Boosting 25psi !!!! I assume, jus to get a good Tune. You will be good. Im sure low 20psi will be Definately safe!
i say you would be able to run more boost without a block gaurd since the block gaurd causeshotspots and detonation. it also causes the wall to warp. because of this the block can not be boosted as much without the risk of detonation and warpage.
the bock gaurd doesn't really do any good. it doesn't prevent anything your motor will see if your only running 25psi or less. even highger than that, there are little to no side loads. even if there were, the block gaurd doesn't even reinforce the walls at the right place. the place in the motor that the motor would see the most side wall force is actully about half way down the sleeves. this is why the only sleeve maker who uses block posting on thier sleeves that does it right is golden eagle

The Ideal gas law ... cant wait for the EFI course at riverside..
Any ways, thanks for your responses, ExcelcivicSi – I’m located near Napa, to the block guard question should I consider not to boost to high since it might knock but I will be using c16 gas during tuning or motor sport 109, so should I boost high to achieve the 450hp bench mark ?
