95 ex to 99 ex swap question?????
I am changing the engine on a 95 civic ex for a 99 civic ex what do i need to make it work right and get the best performance out of it. the engine am replacing it with, i got it out of an automatic civic what problems am i going to run into and how can i solve them.
OBD conversion, I think, and I'm assuming that you're not going to use the auto tranny, but the motor will still bolt up to the motor from the '99. Concerning how to get the best performance from it- I would say do a full tune-up (new plugs, wires, fuel filter, etc.) . Other than that, I would say you would have to give more info as to what you're using the car for, say drag racing or autocross.
yep your gonna have to mod the intake manifold some, some of the sensors arnt going to hook up, your probably going to have to add a IAT sensor. I've done it, it was pretty confusing when I just started out, it was my first swap.

regarding my engine replacement, i have noticed that the intake manifold is a little different. i installed the old manifold since my car is stck shift and the engine i got is automatic. i am also using the same wire harness and computer from the 95.....i am not really sure. this is my first swap..
Oh yeah, forgot the sensors. Use the Y8 i/m, it's got a larger plenum and longer runners than the Z6 i/m. If you're going to use the same CPU, you have to get a conversion harness to get the motor to work with the older ECU without throwing you codes up the ***
