Default Fuel Pump Problems

I have a 91 civic hatch, I disconected my fuel line to see if my pump was working, whenever i turn my car car on it works for a second and then it shuts off. What can cause this problem? And how can I fix it?

Is your fuel pump priming?

If it isn't sounds like it could be your PGM-FI main relay.

Is it turning on for one or two seconds when you turn the ignition swithch on? if so thats normal. The ECU is presurizing the fuel system.

its priming then...but then nothing, i know im getting spark because when i spray starter fluid the car turns on then it shuts off. So its most likely my PGM-FI relay?
