Idle Problem on a B16A2
Hi Guys,
I have a Acura Integra Typer R JG Eldelbrock 65mm Throttle body, and have a problem with the idleing.
On the Original Civic Trottle body there are three rubber hoses contected to the Throttle body. When fitting the JG Throttle body Type-R spec both hoses for the coolant conect but the thrid hose is left out and now where to be pluged in.
I have reset the ECU and still the car like to rev up to 2000 Rpm and drop back down non-stop.
Is there any way to solve the issue or do I need to purchase another brand Throttle body ?
Thank you all in advance.
Regards
Peter

I am having the same problem on my y8 as we speak. It will rev really high and then go up and down constantly. I posted also. What codes are you throwing?
my best guess is an intake manifold leak. i would take it off and replace all of the gaskets. its that or you fast idle control. my buddy had the same problem but replaced his fast idle and the problem was fixed.
correct me if im wrong anyone

Ok saying that , but what do I do with the third Hose ??? I'm stuck here ! do I connect it to another vacume hose that connects to the inlet manifold or do I just get another throttle body.
I don't understand why JG Edelbrock 65mm Throttle body doesn't work.
any ideas ?

I just unplugged my iac and the reving went away. Now my timing is off and thats a whole other story. My suggestion to you would be to get a vacuum hose diagram and go from there. where does the other end of the hose go to?

It won't be a leak because a leak would cause the car to rev non stop, its your fast idle air control valve or your idle air control valve.

, used 20 or 30 bucks, if you need a three pin I have a couple of them, give me 5 bucks over shipping and it's yours. I have no use for them

Actually it could be a small leak, this will cause the ecu to try and correct the idle rpm, causing it to rev up and down as it makes its corrections.Check for this with the engine somewhat cold, run the engine and spray brake cleaner carefully around the throttle body, if the car stumbles then it is sucking in the brake cleaner somehow.

True, but usually problems like this are caused by the 2 things I named.

Hi Doogfood,
The other emd of the hose goes into some sort of round cylinder on the bulkhead !
Tried connecting the hose to a Vacume hose and nothing happens. It still revs up and down??
Which sensor could it be, I mean the Throttle body is brand spanking new, the only thing which I put on the throttle body is the MAP sensor ?! could that be faulty ?
Oh, btw would a dealer advise me which hose I should connect the hose, and would he tell me if the sensor is gone wrong ?
Thnkas for you help in advance guys !
I have not got the camera with me but I will try to take a picture ASAP.
I really need this to be solved and I do not see my car having any leakage or a failure in any form.

Same here.. everything set up very well at a great shop.. it only seems to happen with a cold engine.. and after driving a while, idling happens at quite a high rpm (3200).. and after a while it lowers to about 1200 and stays stable for a while, before starting to fluctuate again.. What would you need pics of? got camera + time to post it :D For me it's not really a problem by the way.. At the shop they think it's the throttlebody, but the response it gives the car is so great.. I'm glad to put up with the revving
My problem was a vacuum leak and that may be yours. Spray carb cleaner around the engine to see if the idle changes and that might narrow down the area for you. And figure out that hose.
Try to get a vacuum hose diagram
