Default can someone tell me what this means? *pics

i was adjusting my ride height when i took off the drivers side wheel and found this jizz on the wheel...its not mudd, its some sort of oily substance. i think it might be axle grease but i dont know what the hell is going on.

time to either:
A) get a quick **** boot for a few weeks
B) get a replacement boot that will be a huge pita to do
C) get a replacement axle

(I just did C a few weeks ago)

It's not that big a PITA, but replacing the axle is quicker, and after core not toooo much more.

I'd never reboot an axle that already had a completely torn boot on. Once the grease slings out like that you're taking a chance on the joint itself.

Time for a new axle, and it's not hard to do if you follow my steps here:

IMO he'd be safe just doing hte one to save money. Looking at your bushings, boot, and basic condition of everything in the pic, it looks like a small hole caused by something other than wear.

Yes. with that much grease already out of the joint a quick boot is not a good idea. just replace the whole thing and be done with it.

go with one axle and be done with it, it shouldn't take you that long.

just went to napa to get an axle (im trying not to spend like 3 bills on one from honda) but i guess they dont have axles availble for 96-00 civics. the guy did say that they had them for older civics so my question is: will an axle off a 92-95 civic work?

i dont know what napa you went to but they can have them next day, i buy all the axles we ever need from thier and they have a lifetime warranty, get both and it takes no time to do unless you are my boyfriend, then it takes a few hours
