rebushing the h22 rods to accept type s pistons

so i talked to several people, all saying you have to rebush the small end of the h22a1 or h22a rods in order to accept the floating wrist pins of the type s pistons. i was told repeatedly that any reputable machine shop should be able to handle this. the one i went to said they did not want to because the rods are so much smaller that they were afraid the metal would gall.
anyone know exactly how this is done? like, anyone thats had it done and can relay this info? i really wanted the bump in compression but i think im just going to end up with my stock pistons by in there.

thats all there is to it, and if you think it will be too weak after u rebush it, then consider this. the rods are identical to an h22a4 rod, except the a4 rod is bushed for floating pins, so I think you will be fine,

someone offered a set of a4 rods but no price yet...
well thats whad im doing, im trying to trust the respected machine shop here in town... theyve built race h22s before? and mines not even race!
ah well im going back down there tomorrow, worse case scenario is im just sticking w/ the h22 pistons... oh well, i want an an-r header anyway

I had my rods rebushed on my last build for the type s pistons.they worked fine,they were even a tad oversized out of spec.If a machine shop says they can't do it,most likely they dont know what there doin.Give Comptech a call,i know they ofer this service.Ive also heard eagle makes some rods to fit these wrist pins.Make dam sure the block is honed right for the type s pistons.

im not exactly sure cus they never actually rebushed em. they took measurements, called some folks, and decided they didnt like what would be left... quoting basko race shop here in town as "it has been done, but they didnt like the results."

I used H23 and Type-S pistons with out re-bushing I just counter-sank the small end bore at the top to get adequate lubrication I had this for about 3 years before I went forged rods.
Can someone explain the point of rebushing to me, cause what ive been reading the h22a4 wristpins are the same diameter then the h23 and h22a1 pins, so why cant i just use h22a4 pistons on a h23 rod. whats rebushing do differently on the rod?

When the S2000 came out it supposedly used bushless floating wristpins, according to the advertised engine specs. So, I wonder if there would be any problems with just honing out the pressed-pin rods to use them with floating pin pistons. Worst case the pin would sieze in the rod, and you're basically back to the pressed pin setup, right?
btw: this has been covered a lot... The wrist pins between the floating pin setup and pressed pin setup are about 0.001" different. For instance, this is why eagle offers two versions of their H22 rods. One version is to use the honda floating pin and one is for "true" 22mm pins.

I only see the ref #CRS5630H3D for Eagle rods, those are sold as "stock", so it would mean "not for type s". What is the ref for their type s compatible rods ?

well you could be right, the part numbers are all different, but he is basically looking to get the type s pistons to work on the h22a1 rods.
if he takes the pistons to a machine shop and have them measure the inside diameter of the picton and then the inside diameter of the rod that will tell alot. second he can see how the h22a1 wrist pin fits in the piston. if the type s pistons are designed to be used with a smaller floating wrist pin than the larger h22a1 then the wristpin should be a very tight fit when put into the type s piston.
