Exhaust cam not turning...
My friend's 86 integra (it's got a b18a) won't start and he doesn't know enough to explain what happened (how it died). I pulled the valve cover because there was some clicking when I asked him to turn it over, the timing belt is there and both cam pullies are turning, but the exhaust cam isn't turning at all. Is this possibly how it's supposed to be? I was thinking maybe the belt jumped a/some teeth and bent one of the valves or is causing the cam not to turn. Any ideas / experience would be appreciated, thanks.
so, what do you mean both cam sprockets are turning but the cam is not. yes or no?
did you check the timing belt? is everything lined up?

i don't understand. if the cams are bolted correctly to the cam gears and the timing belt is turning the gears, why wouldn't your cam be turning? has everything been doublechecked when torqued back down?
Yeah I feel kinda dumb for even asking, I looked again today and the pulley bolt and key came out. The first time I looked I didn't even check the end of the pulley. I just hope none of the valves are broken or bent, and that I can retrieve the bolt and key somehow. I gotta get a book now anyway, but do you guys know what to do for setting the cam timing? Point both the marks toward what? There is a word "up" on each pully and a mark on each one, not on the same part as the "up." Thanks a lot.
