Weird Ticking = Valves? High idle, then violent shake *HELP*
This is for my brothers car, Ive got a Sohc zc non vtec in my car and he seen how nice it runs and what I can smoke on the bottle. SO we swapped the same motor into his car.
Got it all finsihed and everything last night, went to bed. Woke up this morning and changed all the fluids. Went to start it up.....
Starts just fine but instantly jumps for 2300 RPM, now Im positive this is really high and idle at that sounds really loud because hes running a 2.5 catless exhaust and it just sounds ******* loud at idle, no shaking at all at 2500RPM
Engine starts to warm up after maybe 4 min and is 1/2 way on the engine temp gauge, perfectly normal, RPM's are now at about 1100 RPM, which to me is still fairly high. The idle screw is turned all the way and this is as LOW AS THE IDLE GOES, cant keep turning it til the car sputters and dies
Now at this 1100 rpm THE CAR SHAKES LIKE A HOTEL SEX BED!!! Is not like disgustingly bad but its just uncomforatable and annoying.
ALSO- when we turn the car off, you hear a sucking type noise for about 1 second
The car is a 88 Si, sohc zc motor, unknown performance header, ebay intake.
Any help appreciated

the sucking noise when it turns off is just the intake, or its a vacuum leak
and what kinda mounts are you using?

Is the throttle cable adjusted, how about the tps sensor. If these are not adjusted properly it will cause these symptoms. Cleaned the throttle body? Umm, usually if its a vacuum leak the rpms will surge on idle not just rev.
throttle cable wasnt adjusted because I dont know how lol, dont know about the tps sensor. ANy help with these?
The mounts are stock and were in great shape

K the TPS sensor means throttle position sensor right?
This would cause my car as soon as I start it up to jump to 2500 rpms and sit there for a bit? Cause the car to shake? Eventually the idle down go down to 1000 rpm but the car still shakes, the idel screw is all the way to the left so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE tell me what to do now. ANy informative stuff will be praised because Im not the sharpest knife in the drawer with Hondas motors

How to Check the Voltage on your Throttle Position Sensor.
After performing a swap, many times the throttle position sensor on the engine is broken, forcing you to use one from your old d15 or d16 (or whichever you pulled). The Honda TPS has three wires coming from it: green/white , a red/blue , yellow/white. Your primary focus will be on the red/blue wire, as this is the one that sends a voltage to the ECU telling it how open or closed your throttle is. The ECU expects .5 volts to be closed throttle and 4.5 volts to be Wide Open Throttle (WOT). The red/blue wire goes to pin D11 at the ECU. Rotating the TPS will change the voltage, when you take it off, you'll notice that the holes are slotted so it can move. If you are fortunate enough to have Hondata Datalogging or an Apexi V-AFC you can use their inbuilt functions to read the TPS voltage. If you do not have such a device, you can use a Voltmeter or similar device. Ground one lead on the chassis somewhere and use touch the (+) lead to the pin on the TPS (should be the center pin) and measure the voltage. Rotate it until it reads .5 volts, then tighten it down. Have a friend press the gas pedal to the floor and also check that WOT reads 4.5 volts.

SO, the question was also asked in that thread
just checked the volts on post on the tps...
closed - .5
WOT- 3.83
is that a bad thing ? how can i fix it?
BUT was never answeered
Whqatd do I do if I find that the number are not .5 and 4.5?
Guess I have to go buy a volt
