You should just contact spoon directly they might suggest that you use a different starter. What is happenning is the teeth on the starter are not making good contact with the flywheel. Double check the part number on your starter and make sure you have the correct one. If you give me the part number, year of your car and model I work for Acura and I could check with my parts department to make sure everything is correct. Let me know.

Well, hopefully this will solve your problem the part number for the stater from acura is 31200-p73a01rm. If you didn't buy the stater from your local acura dealer It could be that the shaft on the starter is actually a different length. See the problem you have right now is that the stater isn't lining up with your new flywheel. This is causing it to chew off the teeth on the flywheel. NOT GOOD AND EXSPENSIVE TO REPLACE! When you remove your starter from your car look at the starter and look for the ware on it. I bet only half or less of it is chewed on. This is good evedenice that the shaft is not long enough. Also, make sure your flywhell is torqued down to the factory specs. Let me know if this helps.

Before you put all this together I would check the way the teeth come together. You know hold the starter upto the flywheel and make sure that the line up. If the teeth on the flywheel are not 90degree to the starter then you will have the same problem again. And will need to buy another flywheel from someone else. My fav. is the JUN 9lbs. but, there are plenty of others out there. GOOD LUCK!!!
