clueless teg owner
1) I was hoping to do a lil bit at a time. In the smartest sequential order.
2) Basic driving mostly highway. A lil highspeed stuff everynow and then mostly to and from work though.
3) Fast as I can without compromising reliablity.
4) RELIABILITY IS KEY
I know the basics I/E/H but what after that and I also dont know what brands?

Remember..Turbo is FAR from just a bolt on. It requires knowledge, tuning, patience. Stuff WILL break. Search here on HT...you'll learn tons. If you don't know anything about cars, don't go down the road of turbo yet. It's a serious mod. Welcome to the boards!
turbo is reliable... but a supercharger is more reliable... plus you don't have to tune it that much, meaning take care of her like you would a turbo. either or, you'll definitly have fun with both...
to start you off in the right direction -----> since you said that your always on the highway, i'd start out by getting the breathing done, i.e. a cai (cold air intake), a header, and a muffler with a high flow cat and piping.
good luck on your venture... welcome to HT

How is a supercharger "more" reliable than a turbo? and less tuning than a turbo?
From what I know, both needs to be tuned properly to be reliable. Both are reliable or unreliable depending on "you". If you have the proper parts (build), proper tunning, and not rag the **** out of it, they're both can be very reliable. I don't know how people got the idea of a supercharger is always more reliable than a turbo. (my friend blew up his motor with a vortech supercharger and then blew up another one with a t25 turbo setup)..as for me, my car's been running like a champ w/ a t3/4 setup...(knocks on woods)
