Default I want to fully build a head for my R

Heres the thing I want to get a head to fully build it (P&P...etc). I have an ITR and can't be without it so I'm going to buy a head and build it. What sould I look for the head to have? How much should I expect to pay? Could I get a B16, B18c1, or a B18c5 and end up with the same thing/power after its built? Where should I go from here?

A good start would be the Classifieds. You'll probably want to go with a B16A or Type R head so that you won't have to replace your intake manifold. Prices will vary depending on many factors, so your best bet is to search and see what you can find.

I dont need the manifold so could I also use a GSR head? Do the B16a and GSR head bolt on to the type r block without any mods??

Your current ITR intake manifold won't bolt to a GS-R head without modification, which is why I suggested you look for another Type R or a B16A head. After you have the head, you'll need to decide what your exact plans and goals for the motor will be, and then you can proceed with the build accordingly.

What is the information on the head (year, milage, what it includes, etc.)? Who would be doing the porting, and what does their "street" and "race" port each entail?

Would it matter how many miles is on the current head since Im going to have it rebuilt? The one that would be doing the porting would be rocket motor sports. Does anyone else have any experience with them? I would have to ask about the mileage and the difference b/w the street and race. Ill let you know

if your building a head for racing, then i would go with a b16a, first gen go for around $400 sometimes less. and since you can transfer the manifold, solenoids and loss motion from your old itr head it will not matter which b16 head you get.
as far as head work i would recomend LDLspeedshop. he's in LV nevada. talk to denis. if you don't know the number pm me i can give it to you.

is the b16 head and ITR casting code different or the same? Whats the difference b/w b16a and b16b. I found one for $350 not sure if its a b16a or b16b all I know is that it has around 50k miles and it came from an si. How does the P&P job compare from LDLspeedshop, Portflow and Rocket. Sould I be careful about some thing when picking up the head, any tips?

$350 more than likelly its a b16a head not a R head. the are both cast he same way. R heads are then ported and the recieve better valve train. but the head casting itself is the same.
LDLspeedshop. i have nothing but good things to say about denis. i have sent him a few people and they were all happy about his work. also talk to dtrfab.com here he can also tell you about LDL.

Does it matter what head I get as in obdII-a or obdII-b? What mods would I need to do with the electrical work/wiring it up.

as far as the head is concerned it does not matter . even if you get one from a 88 sir, the bare head will go into your car with no wiring modifications. everything will switch over from your other head.
