Good place or person to buy YS1 tranny? What the heck is "hydro internals" on one?
I have my 88 CRX Si, B18c in the shop. The cage is built. Yeah! But I am pricing out a rebuild of the YS1 cable tranny versus buying used. Again I am still new to Hondas. The former owner told me the tranny was a "ys1 cable tranny with hydro internals" with my undestanding that "hydro internals" somehow meant "beefier". Is there such a thing?
Anyway can anyone know of a reputable business or person that has one for sale? Thanks.

And did you read the threads that you got the 15 results? I did "YS1 tranny" in the road racing section and got 8 replies half of them mine. I "ain't lazy". I looked in classifieds. Not sure about one guy. Talking to some E-bay. I was hoping there was a business folks in this forum section (the only section I normally venture into) know which is reputable and a source for YS1s. Parting out the repair based on what we know sounds too expensive.
(update) I did a search all sections of 127 replies and I still need this answered.
Any "constructive" help welcomed please. TIA.

Not as I understand it.
Hydro internals would merely indicate that the tranny had been setup to work with a hydraulic slave/master system clutch.
Cable trannys were in the older cars, and their use in newer cars requires either a cable retrofit to the car, or a "hydro" adapter system for the cable (YS1) tranny.
Not sure who's reputable ... but whomever you'd normally buy a motor from would/could/should also be familiar with the transmissions.
Happy?
Maybe you should do some more reading on the matter?

Thanks. Yeah I have been reading GSR v. LS YS1 etc. . Just thought I was going to crack open the tranny and have synchros done until my mechanic friend started pricing. Honda sure is proud of its replacement parts based on the pricing. Guess I roll the dice on a used one.
