Default Cage and seat install - Major problem

Hey ITR people,

to make a long story short: My rollcage is installed in the car and now it fits wonderful.

So the problem:
This is my seat (I choosed it in black. This image is taken from the website of OMP)
OMP Type "Grip"

Those are my brackets (HC733):

I also have sliders. But if I put in everything, means the console, the sliders and the brackets and the seat in the lowest position, the seat sits way to high.
So we put the sliders out and the seat is still way toooooo high. I touch the cage with my head. Further, the seat would sit to close to the steering wheel when just bolted to the stock position.. I need to bolt on the seat 110mm further away.

Problems problems......... Next race event is 17th of July...

Has there anybody solved a similar problem ?

you need either to fab custom sliders/mounts, or buy a different seat methinks..

the mugen sliders supposedly sit the lowest of the pre-made ones, IIRC, but I'm not sure that's low enough for you..

I am very tall... But the stock seat height seems to work for me...

Those OMP seats are legal on my car.. others are not (except stock for sure). So those seats have to get in the car anyway.

sounds like you're going to have to make some then.. get some OEM sliders and whatever mounts you need and either have someone do it, or make em yourself..

I have the same problem in my car.

You will need to make a custom mount for the seat brackets.

Taking out the cushion will drop you down a bit - but sitting on the hard seat is not fun.

You can try switching the brackets left to right so that the bracket angles AWAY from the seat base. This way - the brackets will not limit how low you can mount the seat - but this will require you to fab up a custom base.

I use the HC 733 on my Type R

BPR - who is doing the same thing on his car....

we'd make you up some brackets, but we'd need the seat or ur current brackets and some good details on what you want done or REALLY REALLY good measurements

Side mount, or bottom mount seat?

I have a Sparco Evo2 in my car, and I modified the OEM rails and the Sparco brackets to fit the seat in. With all of the pads in place I'm about stock heigth, withouth the big front bolster I'm lower than stock, and without any of the padding(what I prefer for the track, only 25 minute sessions so far, and autocrossing) I'm way lower than stock.

I'd find a race fab shop in your area and have them custom mounts and sliders for you if you're not savvy enough to do it yourself. It's usually not more than 2-300, which may or may not be worth it to you.

Go custom. There is no other way you'll get it lower.

Sounds like you need smaller/shorter seat brackets. When I installed the Sparco Milano's in my R the Sparco seat brackets were not already pre-drilled. However, thankfully we could choose where we wanted to mount it. If you don't find a bracket available for your height adjustment, buy the Sparco seat brackets. Then you can choose where ever you want it.

Hmmm..

A friend has the same seat installed, but he took other brackets... I guess they are in the image above also.. No. HC/732.

Here is the pic:

I sat in his ITR a while ago and remember that it worked fair well.

I will get those brackets saturday morning and see if we can work this out right.

But are they really lower than the others ?? On the pic I doubt it...

Compare HC/732 and HC/733
