Action Clutch experiences?
Anybody have any experience with the Action 2KS? I can get good deals on Action and this appears to be the best option. Is it good for boost? What power can it hold roughly? I'm making about 425whp and 300 ft. lbs. torque and want something that is very grabby and reliable and Ok for occassional daily driving. Any info is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Mark
Info on the 2KS:
Dual Diaphram Pressure Plate (Pedal Pressure of 3,000lbs)
Sprung Disk - Segmented Tribco Kevlar
Throw-out and Pilot Bearings
Alighment Tool
Thanks.

I have a 2ks right now but I only have 285hp/225tq. I will be up at 400 soon though. This clutch is really nice, especially for daily driving. It can hold tons of power and has a super smooth engagement since it has a full faced disc. But it sounds to me like you want something more grabby like a 4 puck unsprung like a 2md. I chose mine because I like to road race my car and need a smoother engagement. I don't think this is a hardcore drag clutch but it will do the job.

400 miles on the 2ks and so far so good
. Smooth engagement, stiff pedal pressure, but is perfect for daily driven. Can't wait to beat on the clutch and really test it out.

I'm pretty sure ryan has one (b18flip) on his 290whp teggy. It's daily driven too. Ask him how he likes it.
I on the other hand have the 2md, which is the unsprung version. It's a little tougher on the car because of the harsh engagement, but nothin I can't live with.

Running a 2MD (unsprung, 6 puck, 3000lb PP) on the street, it grabs and holds well. Street driving is fine, but if you were caught in heavy traffic...it would not be desireable. I have also driven with the same clutch except the kevlar sprung disk, engaugement was smoother. Still had the same pedal pressure as the 2MD.
All and all the Action cluthces are top notch, I have yet to have any seroous problems with them....good luck
I'm probably going to change back to a kevlar disk or turn around and swing the Exedy twin disk.

I have the 2MD and I don't have any problems driving with it. It's pretty smooth and it grabs real well. Not sure how much it will hold, but I am going to push it and find out lol.

I don't know that they have one, I looked when I bought mine and came up with nothing. Ask Wired Speedlab, they've got all the specs and such for you.
Just installed the new engine last weekend, running the Action 2KS kit. The pedal pressure is *much* stiffer than stock (on my cable clutch DB integra), but the kevlar disc seems to be smoother than stock as far as engagement. All in all, I like it a lot. Just need to get used to the dual diaphragm. Haven't tested its torque-holding capability yet, though...

Bringing this back from the dead.
After about 10,000 miles or so i would have to say that this clutch has held up very well. Here is a pic after taking it off, not the best but it doesn't even look worn down to me.
Use link below if photobucket doesn't work.

Anyways, the 10k miles have included city and highway driving, long distance driving(400miles+), driving to and from the 1/4 track on numerous occasions, burnouts on slicks at the track, as well as 7k rpm launches at the track on slicks. And if anyone is wondering why i took it off, i had to replace the ls tranny with a b16 tranny
p.s. "powder free latex gloves"-i gots sensitive skin i guess cuz the powdered ones make my skin itch

Action is actually in the process of putting together a website right now, but it wont be ready for a while. I can answer any questions that you may have about Action Clutches and if you need one I can get you the "Best" price.
Im running the 2KS on my boosted LS and I love it. Grabs Hard, Smooth Linear Engagement, and about twice as much pedal pressure. The 2KS is only rated to 375hp, so Id suggest the 2MD or 2MS for you, which are good to 500hp.
