DSM Injectors (new info) - plug and play solution.....
As I get ready to finally install my turbo kit, I have made several observations:
dsm injectors are pretty much plug and play on obd1 injector clips (just cut out the slot on the inside of the injector side of the plugs), and the on-board resistor box makes it an easy install.
rc injectors are a strange animal: they have obd1 injector clips, but are obd2 injectors (at least the ones I bought are). I suppose they sell obd1 injectors too... (peak and hold vs. saturated.....)
rc injector clips are almost identical to obd1 injector clips. They are a little easier to use with the way they use the spring to hold the injectors in the clips - when removing the injector.
obd2 injector clips have the bottom slot slightly offset. obd1 injectors have the bottom slot in the center.
Does anyone make a clip that is similar to that of the obd2 injector side?
I am going to solder some resistors inline with a male and female clip - so I can simply do a plug and play install of dsm injectors. I am also going to use rc injectors and clips + the injector side clip as a plug and play solution to use rc injectors. This will make installation and switching easy for me in the future...
I have some clips I purchased from viren singh (b18bturbo on h-t), and the ford injector clip portion is perfect for an obd1 style injector. But the portion that clips into the obd2 injector harness on the car side is quite lacking (imho).
I suppose I will have to resort to gutting some obd2 stock injectors in order to get that side of the clips... unless someone else has a better idea...?
