Default where is the main relay on a 1991 civic si hatch?

And can a faulty main relay also cause a car to crank and sputter and not start? Thanks

the main relay is located to the left of the fuse panel - it's tucked up behind part of the dashboard next to the fuse panel. there is one screw holding the small bracket attached to the main relay to hold it against the for lack of a better description, inner fender of the car - it's bolted to the side. basically, take the underdash fuse panel cover off, look behind the dashboard just to the left of the panel cover and you should see it.

If you can't hear your fuel pump priming, then your main relay is shot. You'll know when your car won't start, it will just crank over, especially on hot days.

Dont unscrew it!!! Its so much easier if you just take out the internals, leaving the outter shell/case bolted in. Trust me, its a bitch getting the little bolt back in.

I just unplugged it, and plugged the new relay in, so they are both shoved up under the dash. Took <2 minutes to do.
