I'm not sure what mini-me iastreetracing.com is talking about, but>>> The D15A3 engine in the 1g CRX Si you found has a different head bolt pattern than all other d-series except for the USDM dohc D16A1 in 86-89 tegs and the JDM dohc ZC. Those three engines have one head bolt that does not line up with all other d-series. Now you *can* swap either dohc head mentioned above onto a D15A3 block, but it needs some fabbing and for the effort you are better off just swapping in a complete D16A1 engine/trannu/ecu/axles/hubs. Notice that I DID NOT say ZC, because most ZCs are later ones for 88+ Civics/CRXs and have engine/tranny mounts that fit 88+ cars which are completely different than the 84-87 cars. Yes, the early 1g ZCs that bolt into the 84-87 Civics/CRXs & 86-89 tegs do exist, but they are quite rare. If you want to know more about the dohc D16A1/ZC head swap onto the D15A3 block, go to http://redpepperracing.com and search for "hydra". So, to recap, if you're building a D16Z6 head/D15B7 mini-me, it only fits easily into 88+ cars. It's a huge pita to put into the 84-87 cars. You have been warned!
btw, if you decide not to buy the 1g CRX Si, please post the info over on the rpr classifieds or forward it to me and I'll do it for you. I'm sure they would appreciate it.
