You used to be able to look inside but now some fakes have been made even closer to looking real.
If you want real ITR bars, I'd say spend just a little more money and get something better than ITR.

theres really no telling i think just buy looking at pictures.....now a days....replica's are exactly like the real deals......I believe the real type R strut bar is lighter, correct me if Im wrong....but by looking at it....I couldnt tell you. I personally think strut bars are still bars......its just the NAME and designs that makes you have to pay that extra. If you got the money....go for the real one....and to be for sure, go to you local acura dealership...

All the replicas I've seen are made EXACTLY like the real ones, including the reinforced hollow extruded aluminum bar.

Yeah, a lot of the eBay fake ITR bars have the interior bracing that the real bars have. However, the real ITR bar's brackets are gray color while the eBay ones are black.

thats true, not I am debating on repainting mine black cause rust is starting to come through so if I ever decide to sell it people with think its fake. Ohwell I guess I will leave it then.

Yup, that's how my rear bar is (comptech up front). One way to tell a fake is by the color. OEM bars are silver while most knock-offs are more bronze.
