Default I I think i got ripped off from Redline Performance Products

I have ordered an ACT A14 HDSS kit from Redline performance products like 3 months ago from a group buy post here (from Honda-Acura.net by someone called VtecRuleZ) but the link is gone.

The last e-mail they wrote me was on the 22nd of Oct. which is almost a month ago.
I wrote them many e-mails since then but no responds..
I don't know what to do now... i paid them via money order and since i purchased it.. the kit has been delayed 3 months..
I have no their contact #, no nothing except the e-mail address
and their address.

Can any of you help me out.. ? ppl in CA, has any of you heard about Redline performance? Know where they located? and stuff..
i have no clue where or how to get them plz help.

here are their info below:

Thank you so much Tj

here are my infos see if you can help me out with it..

The total is 372.57 US dollars
They informed me that they have recieved my money order on Aug 16th. which is like 3 months ago.

They told me the kit will be in within 1~2 weeks as they wrote below but in fact isn't not..

and the last e-mail they wrote me was on the 22nd of Oct.
"We have ordered from our distrubutor and are still
awaiting its arrival."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This was the confirming e-mail they sent me b4 i purchase the kit.

================================================== ==
Law,

We will cover the paper work here so that it clears
customs faster. Your shipping charge is additional
12.57 on top of the original price of 360. We
apologize for the extra cost, but we have to cover
International prices. Your total will be 372.57.
Once again since your paypal account is down, you can
send a money order to :

Redline Performance Products
5255-4 White Oak Ave
Encino, CA 91316

Shipping, will probably take 2 weeks max since we are
going to take care of some required documents on this
side of the border. We determined that the 8 week
waiting period was mostly becuase of the nature of the
packages we sent (race gas and exhuast systems and a
Skyline Engine). These products held longer than just
a clutch. Sorry if we spooked you. So $372.57 is the
total, and you'll recieve it within 1-2 weeks.
=================================================

Thanks again

Hey fellows... the updates are coming~~
it's 3:58 AM, just received replies from Redline performance

Lawrence,

We thank you for bein gpatience in the apst. We hope
that this e-mail reaches you, we have sent others but
it appears that they have not gone through. Our last
message was dated 2 days before you sent this one.
Our current problem is with the shipping. Different
shippers are telling us different stories. Some say
that it may sit in customs, some say it should go
through. Furthermore, we are told that you may be
charged extra when it arrives at your door, and we are
also told that our cost may be higher. We are trying
to find a good solution that is both time and
monetarily economical. We are prepared to offer you a
refund until we get this resolved.

So what do you think, 1. sounds good and that's what i am gonna do. 2. sounds too fishy, since they do know where can find me.. they never did.

this is the reply i just sent them:

Hello, knock knock, I finally got replies from you,~GOOD.
I do Not know what's the deal here whatsoever but I do know that I have paid
my ACT clutch Kit and not receive it yet.
The total was 372.57 USD plus you waste my time exactly 3 months since
the date you received my Money Order and Yes I would like to have the full
refund back Via Money Order also but until then I do not know if I should
give a try or not, but since it has been for so long I can wait and give a
try until next Wednesday Nov. 21st, 2001 see if you can come up with a
solution. What do you say about that? Plz get back to me again and let me
know.

So what do you figure? good idea to give them a more few days or just ask for the refund right away?

As a thought, and I know it's not feasible for everyone, but if you can, pay by credit card. If something goes wrong, you at least have a better level of protection against fraud/abuse/etc.

Hope everything works out.

Sorry, this place sounds like a scam. Never order stuff except from reputable dealers. You may have to pay more, but the risks are lower. Too many small time guys in the Import market trying to become parts dealers.

Recently, somebody posted links for this place. They were looking to sponsors some cars. Some guys got excited and responded to them. I hope they didn't get ripped off too.

yeah man.. i totally agree~~ I would never order anything from them ever again.
They suck at customer service and so on. yeah i heard about the sponsors thing also, i hope those guys didn't purchase anything from them yet.

It's a big NONO to deal with REDLINE PERFORMANCE (CA). If any of you fellows here are trying to order products from them i would suggest you go somewhere else or else "GOOD LUCK".

just adding my 2 cents on shipping:

here's the deal on customs from US to CAD: i ship alot of stuff, ive done it for years, and there's one thing you ALWAYS do, to keep chargebacks and customs charges hitting the receiver....use the USPS, send it AIRMAIL, and mark it as a GIFT. it will get there in 7-10 days (in my experience, it gets there in 6) and its as simple as that. if someone is dicking you around for extra shipping, tell them to send it USPS Airmail, and mark it gift - if they wont do it b/c of a contract with UPSUCK, then find another place where they will - because your best price includes shipping, and some people charge less for shipping, but more for products, and that equals out to a better price sometimes.

just helping out

I don't know their number.. i just know the guy who is close to or knows the actual owners and i just met them so i don't know really what number that is that you posted. I just know that the guy i met is still in school so he couldn't be the owner etc.. but could possibly try to do something. That might be the number the area code is from southern california. So i'm assuming yes.. try it out..
