He installed an h23 5 speed trans on his, that car is insane now, you see all the specs throught the post.
Hint: Do it right the first time.
ps. the usdm h22 trans from the 5th gen is a pos (gears are bad and it is just bad), please go with an h23 trans or jdm h22 trans.

FYI, the H22 tranny's (whether they be JDM 5th gen, 4th gen, ect...) all have the same problems. My M2B4 JDM LSD tranny has the 5th gear grind just like all the rest.
Not to steal the thread but I have an M2S4 H23 tranny from my Si for sale. It has 81XXX miles on it and NEVER had a problem, e-mail at jwzimm@u.washington.edu if interested.

ya dont use h23 tranny. gears suck compared to h22 ones. 4th gen are better then 5th gen, but all are good.
all manuels have the same prob, the syncros

Ok, the ECU's:
You can get the manual ECU, but the year compatbility is:
97/98
99/00/01
The grouped years will work in those model year preludes. You can not use ECUs from another group above in a different group. In otherwords, a 97 ECU will not work in a 99 or vise-versa.
You can convert you auto ECU to run properly as a manual by changing a resistor on the motherboard of the ECU. You need to be GOOD a micro soldering.
You can also remove the immobilizer daughterboard from the auto ECU and plug it into the manual ECU... and the car will start right up.
Otherwise, you need a key from the manually equiped ECU and it's immobilizer to start your car with the new ECU (using duplicated T5 keys), OR to have Honda reprogram the ECU/immobilizer using the Red Key.

Whoa... whoa...
I'm in the market for a tranny swap on my 2000 SS... will an h23 tranny actually fit in? Should i go for the JDM h22? I do plan on going turbo... eventually.
