Radiator Aftermarket or OEM
My original Denso radiator on my 94 VTEC lude is leaking out the bottom today and needs to be replaced (thank you rust & Maine Winters).
Should I get a generic OEM equivolent Radiator for about $200 or blow $360-460 on the REAL OEM unit.
I want to save $ but not at the expense of quality or cooling of my engine.
Any personal experience w/OEM replacement units?? Are they just as good w/out the name?
I need to decide which one to go w/SOON so Quick responces appreciated! THANKS!!
PS: Anyone know where I get a C&R or other quality aftermarket performance aluminum one for similar price range (up to $360)???

I wouldn't even bother with another oem one. When mine cracked on my 94 vtec, I replaced it with another used oem unit that I got for cheap and then that thing cracked with I was tightening the fan bolts!! I just opted for an aftermarket replacement one that was relatively cheap. It was also made out of aluminum. I guess I could have forked out some extra cash for a koyo or something, but this one is fine. It was a hell of a lot cheaper than an oem one and a brand name one and is the same size of an oem one but just made out of aluminum...no cracking here!
you can get brand new oem radiators for like 130.00
i don't see the point in getting an aftermarket radiator unless you have a turbo and require the extra cooling or slim design.

Exactly!!
Buying an aftermarket radiator is a waste of money. These $130 OEM replacement radiators come with a lifetime warranty too.
Putting an aftermarket radiator isn't going to benefit your car one bit.

My aftermarket rad was the same size as my oem one. The only reason I got this is cuz I didn't want to pay out the *** for a "genuine" honda part!
Anyway, it's not a performance rad by any means, simply a replacement, but the endtanks are made out of aluminum. I got it from a shop here in my city and it was around the same price range as you guys are mentioning. I am turbo and I do have two slim fans mounted as pushers on the other side of the condensor and cooling seems to be good still.
