What do you people use to keep your car from getting damaged or stolen (no garage available and limited budget)

 

tow-trunk. do not own a honda

 

i mean thru the ignition, there were parts of the steering wheel cover lying in the parking lot, so i figure theres some way to reroute whatever people use to start the car so that itll delay them alot longer

 

truthfully if someone was smart enough to post the answer to your question it would encourage for some low life to go out an steal a car. there is no 100% way to stop a theif so deal with it.

 

If someone could PM me, thats cool too, I always see posts on fuel cut switches, removing ecu, etc, but ive never seen one on actually modding the ignition, seems like itd help alot

 

thaiphob got my car broken in last week and if i haven't installed my auto lock and turn on my kill switch it would have been gone. putting this post might encourage people those who don't know how. lets put is this way, its not hard to take a honda or integra.

 

Saddly if some one wants you ride there going to get it one way or the other...
Ive always used an alarm but have still had my 90Teg broken in to and even stolen once, the person who stole it did no damage to the ingition so I can only figure they had a key...

Best thing to do it try to invest in an alarm OR make some sort of kill switch to disable the fuel pump and or ingition. If you get an alarm typicaly the shope put the kill switch for the alarm under the dash... DUHH thats where the theif is gonna look its too common a place, so if you do the alarm thing hide the kill switch or just dont use one, as for the fuel and ingition same thing hide a switch thats out of sight to disable it.

Do the above with a Club or other anti theift device and it might help you out, but keep in mind that the chicken $hits who mess up & steal our rides will probably trash the car out beacuse they couldnt steal it, too bad them people cant grow a pair and become a man and buy there own toys.

 

Its not easy to take a honda, but every little thing helps. I was not asking anyone to post a step by step on how to steal a honda, I was asking someone to tell me thru here or PM how I can delay people who actually do use the ignition

use a autolock! it's bulletproof

The club is also a good option. Sure they can cut through it but at a glance they know they are going to have to put up some work to get the club off.

A thief might glance and see no club and then think they are going to get into your car. Once they are in your car and find you have the autolock theyll probably **** **** up.....

Id just have more then one kill switch...have a kill switch for a kill switch different spots. Fuel pump, starter are great ways to help your car not get stolen.

It seems the ONLY way to get around all this is a tow truck...and god damn it i have no idea how they do it!

autolocks and clubs can be broken in 15 secs, every9one knows to look for a kill switch, an extra delay on the ignition would give me a lil more piece of mind, plus the autolock is a bitch to put on everytime u leave

Exactly, id rather have something a little more original and hidden, as well as cheap. I havent heard of anyone doing anythign to their ignition at all, but everyone who reads here knows of the security methods that everyone on here uses

Dam enough with these security threads. I understand you wan't help to keep your car safe, but the more we post new ideas and **** on the internet, that just basically defeats the purpose.

haha i sport both the club and the auto lock and that just made me depressed. but its all about layers of prevention. razor blades in sweet spots give me peice of mind.

you could always drive around with a boot in your trunk....then lock her up when the time comes

 

The Autolock and Club can be defeated by the Buster but that doesnt mean every thief has one. Layer Layer Layer. Oh, and get a gun too while you're at it, hell get a gun, a bazooka and a samurai sword to chop off thier ****

With my car, they popped off those 2 pieces that cover the ignition, popped out the barrel that your key fits into, and when those pices are off, there is nothing left but this little slot that turns and they used a screw driver. Its VERY simple. You could try putting a hidden switch that turns your fuel pump on and off. Even try hiding multiple in-line switches. But, if thieves want the car they'll find a damn way to get it.

 

We've been over this a ton guys...search for good info.

Layer your security with everything possible. Bottom line.
