which has makes less dust - Hawk HPS or Axxis Ultimate?
I am buying new front and rear pads for my '94 GS-R. I drive it hard on the street, brake a lot. Anyway, looks like it's between the Hawk HPS (not to be confused with the HP+) or Axxis Ultimates. Both seem to be real good pads, just wondering what experience people have with them and brake dust? Thanks

I'd say the Ultimates are reasonable. If you wash your wheels every couple weeks, they'll be fine. The dust comes off really easily.
Also - if you're against dust, stay away from x-drills or slots. Much more dusting with those in my experience compared to regular blank discs.

I use the HPS pads and my roommate uses the Ultimates. The Ultimates dust is about 5 times as bad as the Hawk HPS pads.
The Ultimates dust a dark gray/black powder. Looks like gun powder or ground charcoal, and it cakes up on the lip of the rim the most.
The HPS pads dust a brown color, and will never get as bad as the Ultimates do with the dust caking up on the face and lip of the rim, evne if you don't wash the car for a long time.
I can get away with not washing my car for 2 months and it still won't look nearly as bad as his car after just a couple weeks of daily driving.

I don't really remember, but I think mine were around $60 for the ITR/Accord V6 pads. Regular Integra pads are probably a little less.
The Ultimates are around $20 more.

Cobalt friction recommends the Ultimates over the HPS also. Contact importrp for the ultimates.
The Hawk's dust less than the Axxis, but if you want low dusting pads good initial bite with good fade resistance, look for Carbotech brake pads. You should be able to find an axle set of Bobcats for around $100, if they are made for the car that is.
Edit: You can get Carbotech Bobcats right from their website, a front set is a little over $100 and a rear set is a little under. Hope that helps!

well, i did a lot of searches and it seems like lots of people like both the hps and ultimates. if both bite the same, then i would prefer the pad w/ less dust, which i now believe is the hps
