that bar is not a sway bar...that bar will only work on type-r chassis. it goes on your rear lower cross member between where the lower control arms bolt on too.

these are sway bars

if you are looking to stiffen up your cornering the sway bars will help you more, so if you cant get that ITR tie bar to work on your car, i'd return that and get this. Although you'll prolly want to get a tie bar later on.

Don't know if its the tie bar... look at the way the bar is laid out in the photo, everything else is relative to the way it would lay in the car. Strut tower bar is shown as it would be installed and the trunk bar is shown on its side, as it would be installed on the car... the bar in the middle is shown as if the bolts would go up and down. If im not mistaken a tie bar is installed is installed where the LCA connents to the frame.. making the bolts go back to front.

Dont have a Type R... found that pic on H-T... thats not a real ITR bar. its DIY bar someone made and took a picture of.. forgot what the thread was but you should be able to search for it.
if you take the carpet out of your trunk you should see some circles that need to be drilled out where the bars go... i think they are on the non TR models too. not sure.. didnt bother to look at my car.
take a pic when its installed i would like to too a real one... let us know if it made a difference in your handling.

My friend and I made a "rear trunk" bar out of some scrap steel similar to the one pictured. To my surprise it actually made a very noticeable difference. Worth the $5 we threw down for sure

That's NOT a strut bar. That is a lower tie bar. Once again #3 is a tie bar, and #4 is a rear trunk bar. That is how it mounts, STOCK.
Here is the rear underside of an ITR.

96dc2, you seem to know the most about this topic, is it worth me trying to install that lower tie bar?? also the guy has the trunk brace he was gonna sell to me, but it was 50 bucks (which I dont think is worth it). From the pic you posted of the ITRF underside, it seems all I have to do is mount that rear tie bar into the ends of the lower control arms???
