mustang 65mm throttle body on h22a
i found a few references to using the mustang gt throttle bodies from certain years....was owndering if anyone could say what were the best years of throttle body to use? does it make a diff if it is a 88-93, 94-5 etc? i already expect to have to mod it some, just wanted to fidn the closest fit though....
you would probably find more help for this in the prelude section where h22's are a little more abundant...personally, i have never heard of this but would be interested if it works...

a.) i find it funny that everyone hates on domestic parts, and the accord is 98% assembled in america...also, most of the aftermarket parts that most people use on the accord are made in america as well...
b.) most aftermarket t/b's for the h22 are also made in america, which makes the mustang t/b upgrade no different....
c.) if it works, it works...power is power regardless of where it comes from...

whopps guess i thought that i had the lude forum open. had too many windows.
and then those of you hating on domestic parts are stupid as ****. ill sell you a str or jg throttle body for $300 that is 65mm...but for less than $100 i can pick up a stock 65mm throttle body and mod it to fit.
so explain again why its bad to put MUCH cheaper domestic parts that fit and work rather than pay a shitload for an "import" part?

i think its funny taht you guys got so defensive. i know i was atleast joking, cant speak for the other members. i even included "j/k" in my post....i dont care for ford motor company (never said anything about domestics versus imports) or any of its subsidaries, and probably never will. the only ford i would roll in is the old school cosworth or the 550hp gt....wow
...i was merely joking about the rustangs...hope this doesnt turn into a huge debate over imports and domestics

why don't you just have yours bored out. Here is a person on H-T that does it

cause it is cheaper and you cant always make a 60mm throttle body 65mm by boring it out....i had looked into that but my experiencw ith bored throttle bodies hasnt been great with 2 diff ones from 2 diff shops and each had slight issues.
Actually I was thinking of doing the same thing. Slot a hole or two and it fits just fine. I just have not tried the tps to see if it reads same voltage. If this works it is not just the 65mm that is cheaper the 70mm is like half price as well. And they ARE aftermarket, so whats the big deal?
