Clutch question
Im asking this just for my own knowledge my clutch is fine and im not replacing it.
I remember seeing a guide on TV on how to replace the clutch and it looks very simple, compared to a car clutch that is, and they said that you should replace your clutch basket if you need to but they never said what to look for, so what do you look for/at specifically on the basket to see if you need a new one. This is just one of those things that have botherin me the past few weeks and would like to know.

Using OEM clutch plate and fiber you should problem never have to replace a clutch basket. This use to be a problem with Barnett clutch plates, as they were thinner then the stock ones, or at least the ears that touch the clutch basket were. They tended to dig into the basket, creating grooves. Once a clutch makes the grooves deep enough the clutch will no fully disengage, and will start going throw fibers and plates fast. So other then notching of the clutch basket ears, just a basic inspection for cracks and broken ears is all you should have to look for.
