Default gettin' rid of the rice

So...

How should I go about de-ricing my car? I'm open to any suggestions, so either tell me to ditch it entirely, or trade/sell it for another thing.

92 Accord
Blue metallic paintjob (looks really sweet, dont even bother dissing it please)
Altezza Tail Lights (i know i know)
Low Spoiler
Pioneer Speakers (6x9's in back, 5.25's up front)
16" AR Estrella Rims
Blue Neon under driver's and passenger's seats

ATTN: I am NOT looking for a flamefest, I just want suggestions on making my ride more acceptable and getting rid of the rice.

I'm new to the car world and i'm not quite sure what exactly rice parts consist of, but I'm guessing the neon's and the altezza's gotta go.

Thanks, and PLEASE KEEP IT CIVIL

If I had one, I would.

Just paint a visual picture for yourself.

This form is for the performance and technical questions. (Now I have a car that some people on this board would conceder ricey, but I like it.) Do what you like to do but just please don't bring non performance non technical stuff to this board. This is a place where true enthusiast live. This is not a place where people just watch a movie or saw a cool looking Honda on the street and wanted to copy it. Most people here eat, sleep, and breathe this stuff. I'm not knocking you or trying to put you down. I just think that you need to reevaluate the reason that you are tuning your car. I welcome you to stay here but stay to learn.

To answer your question. My personal definition of ricey is anything that takes away from the look of the car and anything that does not benefit the performance of the car. So if you want to get rid of the rice you need to change those things that don’t benefit your car.

Do what you like man, it's your tastes and opinions. Personally though I'd lose the neon and altezzas

Agreed. IMO, CB5/CB7s don't look good at all with altezzas, the stock tails are sexy enough. But it's your car, so make it look exactly the way you want, that's the fun of it! I think sometimes neons are acceptable, if you like them.

It's your car do what makes you happy. No one else on this board has to like or love your car. Different people have different taste.

Posting some pics would be kool

haha hmm...why do you think its rice now? its up to you man. i dont really like to give advice on how things look becuase it is all relative to the person viewing it. the thing i am saying is if you like that crap keep it. dont take it off if people are making fun of it, tell them you like it. i would respect that.

1) remove any non-factory chrome pieces.

2) remove any fake FUBA antennaes

3) if equipped with an automatic transmission, remove any loud aftermarket mufflers. Quieter aftermarket ones are OK.

Well said...

My advice would be to look around at what's out there and find what you like and what you don't... get what you like and avoid the stuff you don't...

be more sure of yourself man and do what you like with your car... Don't do things because they are what others think are cool and you just want to have a cool car... you won't be satisfied in the end....

remember that even the majority takes **** sometimes...

if you like something, leave it be. I have gunmetal altezzas on my car. I hate them now (they leak and are a bitch to keep clear), but when I bought them I liked them. IMO, not all neons are rice. If its done tastefully, and you did a clean job with the install, there's nothing wrong IMO with a few neon lights in the interior. But don't be like the fools around in my area that zip-tie them to their pillars

just keep it clean... hide the neons under the car... and altezzas arnt rice its just another aftermarket mod but try and make it match the car color... well best of luck to you and if the spoiler is aluminum take it off there are very few cars that can pull it off....

Shutuppppppppp....some people just like to make their car look nice instead of fast...don't knock someone for being different...believe it or not, not everyone wants a fast car, some people are content with a good looking one, so grow up.

7. This is NOT a place for asking what is or is not “ricey.” I am sick of the term itself, and I am even more sick of why anyone gives a damn if a certain part is ricey or not. Also there will be no more “look at this rice” crap in here either. All it is is a chance for people to post ***** and it accomplishes nothing more than making GOOD topics sink to the bottom of the heap.

accord forum rules. im not laying down the law, merely pointing out further that you should do what you want

If you deside to remove parts from your Honda, be sure to post them on Ebay so you can get some cash for em. That stuff sells pretty good. Or... you could always just send the parts to me
