Why does my R feel faster after reseting the ECU ???
besides the lil bit of power i feel in the pants, i especially notice it on a 1-2 shift.
for example, at high rpms without even trying my wheels chirp, and with trying they spin way more more than after say 20-30 miles on the odometer post-reseting.
i'm guessing the ECU recalibrates or whatever after a few miles, but am i actually losing any power when it does this....or does the "recalibration" just smooth things out?
if it is losing power, is there anything i can do to fix this?
tia, and btw my mods are only jdm header/comptech CAI.

Could all be upstairs dood.........thats my guess! Its easy to think your going faster when your really not!
i am not 100% sure but i was told that you should reset your ecu after every mod because it allows the ECU to adapt itself to the new mods, changing fuel maps and stuff ...... although what i heard could just be a rumor i heard awhile back
did you move your seat up a little??
That believe it or not sometimes feels faster to me.Has done that in the past.
I know my old RSX-S felt great after Re-setting the ECU,...but that ECU sux which is why it does that.

It's all in your head.
On WOT the ECU uses the same stock fuel map, regardless of mods. Thats why you need to upgrade the ecu when you add things like cams and higher compression, as more fuel is needed.
While cruising, the ECU goes into closed loop, which means it leans the air/fuel out as much as possible. That is the only time the ECU "learns".

after you do something to your car, its always faster on the *** dyno....
jk, ive never really heard of the ecu "recalibrating" after you reset it.
