my laptop has a virus and theres a link on it, but its the standard abrasives website. they have a howto. but its for american motors. just an idea though.

Yeah, I've run into some sites with traditional port/polish techniques etc. I was wondering if there was anything special that should be considered when working on the B16 head. Thanks for the info!
