Default CEL dosnt store?!

hey guys,

A little backround info first. I uninstalled my VAFC the other day, while the VAFC was installed I did NOT receive this issue.

Usually after my car warms up and I drive around for a little while I get this strange CEL. I know this sounds strange but 95% of the time it happens when I am downshifting or slowing down.

The problem is that when I click my key back 2 clicks, throw a jumper in the plug and try to read the code, the code dissapears. After some driving it'll reappear again and I cant find out the CEL#!

First thing I thought was loose wiring on from the VAFC being uninstalled. I only cut 1 wire so I soldered it together well and just taped off all the other wires. Checked all other wiring and its all fine.

What could this be?!

Note: When CEL is on car runs fine, everything engages and works as it does without the cel.

soft code. Soft codes typically reset when the car is off. Could be a number of things. IAT and purge solenoid are a couple common soft codes.

did that to me, it was my secondary o2 sensor, only way i could find out what my code was...was to drive around with the jumper and wait for he cel to turn on, then it flashed accordingly.

That will work eh? I wasnt sure if it would or not. Looks like I'm going to jump it and drive home from work and see if the CEL gives me a code so I can fix this. Its SOOO annoying turning the car off when im at a light then turning it back on and driving for another 5-10 mins before i get the cel again.
