FRIKKEN NOISE. Please help
Hello. I've come to honda-tech as a last resource, hoping maybe you guys can help me. I have a 95 accord ex sedan 5-spd. When i turn right at 10-20 mph i get a metal on metal chainy grinding/scraping noise. It sounds like loose change in your pocket. At first I thought it was coming from my left front wheel (maybe wheel bearing, dust shield, warped rotor problem). I inspected everything, even took it down to my local mechanics. They didn't find ****. So here I am. Also, sometimes with a little bit cooler weather (50-60 degrees F) the noise is less or not apparent at all. Lately the noise has been apparent occasionally when I am accelerating out of a turn for a few seconds in addition to the noise during the turn. Perhaps a steering linkage problem? ... I am close to giving up and just driving it until something breaks or I die. lol. Any help whatsoever would be appreciated. Thanks

Yeah my accord is dropped with an eibach pro kit. It's a metal sound though, so it wouldn't be a plastic part it's rubbing on right? I'll check it for wear in the fender area. As far as the warped rotors, is there any way to confirm that they are warped? I can spin them when the car is on jack stands and they won't make the noise no matter what the angle of steering. Strange thing. Thanks for your advice.

haha because you guys know more about hondas than local shops here (WI), or any other website i have found. short of going to the honda hq in torrence cal, you guys know hondas really well. I doubt it'd be the arms because the car has 138k on it and how would a noise just appear from the arms? I'll check them though. Thanks
no no.. when you lower it you can reduce clearance in the wheel well. the a-arm is notorious for rubbing the inner fender well or even pounding it

Hey guys just wanted to update this thread. I still have the noise and it's gotten worse. It happens now when im braking as well... fucked up. So i'm ordering 4 new brembo blanks and axxis mm pads. And I'll bend the **** out of the dust shield on my front left wheel. If this doesn't work my old high school is pretty tall and I think I can die from falling off of it at the right angle.
are you absolutely certain that the sound is coming from the front of your car?
if not, the ex model accords do come with sway bars and from personal experience, coming out of turns the exhaust sometimes will hit the sway bar and make a metal-on-metal sound. if you have an aftermartket exhaust it makes this possibility even greater.
hope this helps.

Are you sure this sound is coming from the wheel area? Maybe you just have a cat heat shield or alternator heat shield or header heat shield doing a little rattle job.
Take a little metal pipe or something and go whack any thin piece of metal under your hood/car. Lightly of course. Just go around tapping and see if anything sounds loose.

Gotta love the "just hit stuff" approach

Hah I like the tap **** idea. If the new rotors (which i needed anyway) don't fix it I'll try that method. I figured that now the noise is when im braking that it wouldn't narrowed the problem to the brakes... I'm probably wrong but oh well. I'll tap some shields if the rotors don't fix it. Thanks a lot guys.

Yes Sir, mechanic test on a budget.
Anyway, did you find out what it was yet?
