Default need opinions on vtec and rev limit points on custom p28 for lsvtec.........

Hey guys, I've got IH8RICERZ hooking me up with his all motor program (chipped p28), but since he has more experience in tuning b16 engines he wasn't sure what a good vtec cross-over point and rev limit would be for my mild lsvtec. MY set-up is as follows:

b16 head
skunk2 stage 1 cams and skunk2 intake manifold
ITR valve springs and SIR-2 TB
stock b16 valves
shot-peened ls rods with arp rod bolts (also arp head bolts)
JDM p30 pistons (standard bore)
dohc vtec oil pump and water pump
stock injectors and wires

Any recommendations would be great.

larger cams will generally move power up in the powerband, so generally you want to move the VTEC engagement point UP not down.

5500-5800 VTEC
8500 rev limit

You could probably go as high as 8800 for the rev limit, but 8500 is safe.

one of my only concerns is over-reving the engine, but i am surprised about the recommendation to increase the vtec point (then again i am lost when it comes to properly tuning a vtec motor). thanks for the input guys, rev limit will be 8500 and vtec cross-over will most likely be 53-5500 rpms.......
