ATTN: People who have taken out there a/c lines.....gotta question for ya
I broke my upper a/c line last summer when i was doin my clutch/flywheel. Its the black one thats runs up the pasenger side. My question is where does the upper hose end. It looks like it bolts into the firewall right under where you fill the abs.
I just want to make sure before I start ripping everything out. Its very tight in the engine bay so im sure a few things will have to come out. Anyone know for sure???

you can dissconnect both lines right before the firewall, it may "look" like it bolts to the fire wall but i assure you can get it out no problem, just one bolt,
the lines go into the cabin and connect to the condensor unit....you can disconnect the AC lines right under the abs pump but to do a complete removal you would need to get under the dash remove the airbag and get the condensor out
yeah joel is correct, when i took my a/c out i just left the condensor in, but you can easyly disconect everything right under the abs unit
Im not looking to remove it completely. Im going to replace when i find another one. No a/c is not a choice for me with New York weather.
The line broke in half so i unscrewed it from the front and i was trying to find out where it screws into in the back.
So i should be able to replace it by unsrewing it right under the abs??
Thanks guys

yeah it's like a 10mm bolt that holds the 2 hard lines together...it was easy when I did it because the engine was out

ditto,
i don;t know how hard its going to be witht he engine in, and if you still have presure in your lines which i doubt, don't breathe to deep when you take them off, that **** ***** you up!! lol

it's easy with the engine in as well. remove the front bumper and the radiator and you can get to the condenser pretty easy. i haven't bothered to remove the evaporator yet. just don't feel like taking the dash apart right now.
i took everything out without taking my bumper off,
the only think that was a bitch was one of the lines that goes from the condnesor i couldn't get off, so i ended up bending the **** out of it and braking it., oh well

wouldn't that be the evaporator?
i thiught the condenser was in the front by the radiator.

i was doing other work to the front of the car and it just seemed really easy with the front bumper off. i didn't break anything, in fact everything is sitting in a box in the attic.

mine was just a stuck line, i had the radiator out and had plent of access but i just couldn't get the line to let go of the condensor and then it snapped, damn soft aluminum lines
