HELP, B18A In CRX Turns Over, But Wont Start......................
Ok, I have a CRX with a B18a1 Motor in it. Ive basically bought everything new for it thinking that I needed it all, But Now I have a basically Brand New Motor. The motor is turning over but Im getting no spark and motor wont start up. I bought a new Distributor thinking it was that, And still no spark. Ive noticed on other cars that Batter cable comes out of the wiring harness and goes to the battery and distribution block. Mine is missing that so i put a thick wire going from the battery to the distribution block. IS THIS MY PROBLEM???? or may it be something else. IF ANYONE HAS ANY SUGGESTIONS PLEASE POST, I want to start this puppy up this week!!!
i had that problem mine was a fuse connecting to tha starter you might wanna check that out i brought it to a mechanic and he looked at it for free and that was tha problem
Sounds like you need to check your wiring over. Check all the basics, like batt. ground engine ground thermo ground ect. Make sure that all your ECU plugs are in tight as well as the engine harness is plugged in tight. Did you have to do any wiring when you dropped the motor into the car? Like DPFI-MPFI? If you did that could be the culprit so check your wiring there as well. Its just something simple. It always is when it comes to wiring and getting the motor started. Two stinkin wires kept me under 3000rpm for 2 weeks until I reset the distributer by unplugging it and reseting the ECU. Then I could rev to any RPM that I wanted, youll figure it out.

I have an 88 HF, so no wiring was required. But isnt the wiring harness supposed to include the power cable and distribution block cable?? Mine is missing that part, But i have a large gauge wire from the battery to the distribution block, and one from the battery to the starter.
u shouldnt have had to add any wires to the battery. does ur new wire go from the positive or negative terminal
My harness is missing those wires, So i HAD to add them, I have 2 coming from the Positive, One to the starter and one to the distribution block.
from what i know, + goes to starter and fuse box, - goes to tranny and frame. if a ground is missing from the thermostat car should still start, but will soon overheat. check the primary coil to see if u have power there. If not, then of course u have no spark. U must then use an ignition wiring circutry to do further diagnose. i wanna help...where u live? CA!
CT, Sorry, Wish Someone could help me around here, This **** is annoying. But When i get off work im gonna go check all the fuses and grounds and make sure it is all correct., THANKS
so the thermo ground could stop it from starting? if so where is it (bottom of the radiator?)? i dont think i added any ground to the thermo at all. i have spark, im getting fuel, my timing belt seems a bit lose (dunno if thats the problem or not), pretty sure my firing order is correct cuz th way i have it now was the closest it got to starting. it started last ngith for like a split second then died (no sooner did it kinda start did it stop).
i dont mean to get away from ur problem but i dont wanna start another thread. hell from what i know we could be having the exact same prob.
****** sucks i miss my car!!!

Amen to that! Check that ground! I just spent 2 months chasing wires on a Dx with a ZC swap and the whole time it was the ground on the tstat housing.
