cable gearing in a hydro tranny

can i swap out the gears from a cable tranny to a hydro tranny? i figure that the only thing different would be the cable actuation. anyone know?

i thought cable b16 trannies had different internals. but the 92-93 cable gsr tranny has the internals of a newer hydro. but i could be wrong
