Well for one thing the A/C compressor pulley will hit the frame rail if you just let the engine down. I personally wouldn't want that single side mount to be holding the entire engine. Put a jack under it.

thats what we did (removed 2 trannies this winter). they hung there pretty much but someone underneath the car holding it and waiting for it to drop when we finally pried it loose. its decently heavy so have a couple hands around, plus it make take some jolting to get loose once everything is disconnected.
