they look decent, is it me or does the boot look funny? id probably get them from autzone, pep boys or something.

but i think they should be the same.

this is exactly what i need.. how much would the autozone/ pep boys.. etc.. cost? give me a ballpark

 

pep boys wanted like 30 bucks i think.

well howcome in this thread i started about tie rod's.. they say that the aftermarket ones go out over 1/2 years.. and that on major suspension.. to go with oem like parts.. ill post the thread if u want

 

how does one know when to replace them?

 

when they go bad. bad boot, shimmy-ing wheel. loose parts, play in wheel. weird sounds coming from suspension.

btw what flag is that in your avatar? just curioius.

what are you trying to say?

 

stick with the oem suspention parts VERY few aftermarket parts hold up to oe specifications

the price difference isnt that much

How can you test your tie end rods to see if they are still good without driving the car??????????

As long as none of the boots are torn, then youre still good to go.

wrong .... have someone move the wheel from right to left 1 inch each way and look at the tie rod ind and if there is any play in it hten it is bad ... the boot isnt always a good indicator of when it is bad

 

Dammnit...ok ok you are right. My boots are torn and no side effects.

So I should move it right to left and check to see if their is play in the boot right? So if there is play, then the tie rods are bad????

One more thing....in your signature..... "2001 black 4 door gsr??????????" I sure like to see pictures of that.....

 

Jack the wheels up off the ground and grab the wheel at the 3 and 9 o'clock position. Now try and rock the tire back and forth by pushing and pulling each way. If there is slop coming from the tie rod area it needs replacing.
