Default Coil Overs vs. Lowering Springs

I want to lower my car but I want to retain the smoothness of the ride as much as possible. Are Coil overs or Lowering Springs better?

Regaurdless you will have to replace the shocks to have a smooth ride. I think name brand lowering springs would give you a better ride then coil overs but the coil overs are prolly not that much worse of a ride but give you alot more adjustability.

Everyone will tell you to get coilovers but if ride quality is what you want then lowering springs will be better provided you can find the height you want.

Don't expect to "slam" your car and maintain a smooth ride. I have a 1.8" drop on Tokico Illumina's and Tokico Springs and its a smooth as stock. As for coilovers i had coilovers on stock struts and the ride was horrible. It was ok for the first 3 months but after that the car bounced like hell. With coilovers what you gain in adjustability you loose in comfort. With a coilover you don't get nearly as much spring as a lowering spring. I mean you are replacing spring with a threaded metal sleeve, so the spring is shorter.
