Are the fans not turning on and is the car just heating up really quick to the point of overheating?
I would check the fuses, connections of the fans first, then also check radiator fluid some have been known to no turn on due to low fluid levels
.
A easy way to see if your thermostat is opening up and is operating correctly is this method:
Start car from a cold start...intermittenly check top and bottom radiator hoses, they should heat up at about the same time. The bottom one will get warmer than the top one, and should be that way until 5-10 minutes of the car being on. The top hose shouldn't be as warm as the bottom one, this is kind of a easy way (not always correct) to see if the thermostat is opening.
If the top hose is very cool I would suspect the thermostat. If your fans do not come on after that check connections to the fans to ensure the connectors aren't faulty.
Others will chime in
but congrats on the new purchase and welcome to the accord forum
EDIT:
I got the top and bottom hoses mixed...the top one should get hot first then the bottom one... corona > me

thanks for the info
yes, the car is overheating and the fans dont come on at all. i did a visual on connections but not the fuses yet. should've gone to fuses first. i was just gonna buy a new thermostat and thermoswitch but dont know where the switch and/or fan switch is located.
should i get "STANT" or "BECK/ARNLEY" at all. if im gonna be in arizona or cali this summer, should i get the 170f? or 180f? or just stick to 100% stock?

Yes there is a temp sensor at the T-stat housing. You can test your fans by turning on the A/C...the fans should run. The coolant flow will go to the top of the radiator first. I would suggest letting the engine warm to 1/2 temp on the gauge then jumper the thermal switch connector to see if the fans run. For the 4 cyl. engine the thermoswitch is P/N 37760-P00-004 list is around $35.

great advise. i pulled the two cooling fan fuses to see if they were blown-----not blown but after i reinstalled them, the fans work/cool perfectly.
