Default cutting valve cover for cams tuning.....

i've seen the H22's that have the oval/moon style cut for the tunable cams....i was thinking of cutting my h23 cover for that, but is it just cutting? other things involved? anyone done this?

I don't see why you couldn't use a Dremel and some patience...

a dremel(SLOW!), angle grinder, torch(not pretty), or a plasma cutter.

i just did this on my h23 and had the moon cut come out perfect, the way to do it is with a holesaw, if you dont know what that is its a drill bit in the center with a saw around the bit the size of the cam gear

well since we todd is down here is a link to what i am talking about

I cheated and bought mine off ebay

I'm sure a dremel or a whiz wheel would work fine as long as you have the patience.

you can find something circular about the same diameter and trace out the area to be cut away, and instead of using a saw to cut it out, you can drill lots of holes near the edge of your line and after you do that just break the small links between them and buy an sanding attachment for your drill (could use a dremmel but it would take a long time) and just sand it smooth. Here is a picture of mine that i did, I still have to work on it a little, but it came out pretty good for the most part the first time, oh yea on my valvecover 93 lude the ground was in the area that I had to cut out, so i uncrimped the wire off the stock wire(pain in the ***) because it was too short now and I got some of that blue 4 ga wire I had laying around and crimped it on there and grounded it at the powersteering line holder bolt

If I had to do this over again, I would try and buy some connects instead of taking off the stock ones
