probably the camera, a lot of those pics in the thread were taken with highend cameras, and while I dont know a lot about your model, I would guess that it just cannot do what some of the better ones are doing

this is a pretty high end camera, its a year or two old now, but its still 3.3MP and alot better than some new ones.

do you have the link to the thread?

i can't beleive you took the time to print screen the pic, edit it, then upload it on a server just to prove a point.... you are an ***...

a tripod doesn't help on macro shots unless your exposure is set for a long time.

i haven't used a tripod for any macro shots during the day time. just get close to the object you are shooting, and shoot. There should be a thing where you focus on, check your manual.

usally on most cameras you dont push the button all the way down (the one that takes the picture) you push it like half way and youll hear a click or beep and the camera will focus itselfand when you see in the view finder its focused you push it down the rest of the way. i have to take macro shots every day at work cause i update a e clothing store.. and alot of stuff i shoot are rings and **** that are hard to shoot. heres a shot i did when i learned how to use macro.
and metal like this is kinda hard to make come out looking good.
