Just installed cams, engine temp. gauge not working
Hey guys, I just installed a set of crower 2s and springs and retainers on my h22. The car runs like normal, but now the engine temperature gauge in the cluster always reads cold. I have a feeling that it is one of the plugs for a sensor that I messed up thats doing this. If you look at the head from the passenger side, it is the right most sensor just to the left of the upper radiator hose. The plug was really weird because it did wasnt a normal plug where you just snap and pull apart; the plug was connected to the wire and when it cracked open, it exposed a spring inside the sensor and a flared end for the wire side. I wasnt sure how it connected so i just put the flared end in the sensor where the spring was and started the car. Any ideas? I know the fan still works because it turned on when I was idling the car for awhile. Thanks.
Oh, one more thing. The car would not start the very first time. It sounded like it wanted to, but it didnt get any spark. So when I opened up the distributer cap, the end of the rotor was all brown. I sanded it down and then the car fired up. This is the second time and seems like the rotor cant handle the spark from my msd digital 6+, ss coil, and wires. Any ideas on this? Anyone make a better rotor? Thanks again.
