No, his rear left wheel broke off and he went straight into the tire wall at the hairpin. Even without being on the power, those wheels might have been turning fast enough to create the rooster tail...

Once the track opened after the race ended, you should have seen all the people running over there to grab even the smallest shard of carbon fiber.

wow i watched the race yesterday and toatly missed that. i only watch untill lap 24 and even then it was off and on, had **** to do so i couldn't sit down and watch it
