Default I want to turbo the EF

I have a 91 civic hatch for my daily beater and after realizing how cheap a single cam vtec motor is and Im sure I could piece together a cheap turbo kit from DSM crap my friends have laying around
How reliable would this a setup like this be; I wouldnt boost anything crazy at all I just would like something to suprise a few people and it would be a great sleeper with my flat black paint, steelies and snow tires

ANY advice about single cam turbo would be awesome, I really dont know much about it
(what would be save amount to boost)

I have a friend running 12.6's on a turbo A6 (stock A6). Don't expect that speed out of a reliable setup though. Expect low 14's or so with conservative boost.

when u say dsm parts laying around do u mean the t25? and side mounts?....in all honesty its not at all worth it...if u want a decent front mount intercooler go to http://www.johnnyracecar.com...and u can get a t3oe or b for pretty cheap...dont use stock parts off another car...not to mention the t25 wont fit with any rev-hard manifolds or anything ud have to get a custom one...which is worthlesss....

THE most important part (especially when reliability is a concern) is the engine management. If you want cheap go turboEDIT. http://www.turboedit.org

I don't think Hasport makes a crossmember.

I think it was place racing but i do think you need a different crossmember because my friend was doing a z6 and mpfi conversion on his car today and said he was planning on turbo charging the car I told him your not going to have much room because of the cross member.

You dont need the aftermarket crossmember. Sure it'll free up a bunch of space, but plenty of people have turbo EF's with the stock crossmember.

I am looking for the same set up. I have a Z6 head that I am having Ported and Polished by theoldone...and then I want a TURBO!!! I must boost...I must boost...

Anyone with some tips on piecing together a turbo would be greatly appreciated. I am not much of a buyer as I am a scavenger and would rather take the time to find the best components than I would buy a kit.

I have a 90 hatch with a DOHC ZC. It has a T3/T4 turbo and a 2 1/2" downpipe. I have the stock crossmember, stock raidiator and stock fan still in there. Check these guys out. There is alot of info there. Read, read, read then ask.
