stump the chump! 90 RS missing under 2400 RPM
so I've got this 90 RS. Just bought it the other day. It's got this annoying thing - once it's warm, under 2400 rpm if I give it anything more than just a little throttle, it bogs and feels like it's running on only three cylinders. As soon as it hits 2400 or so, it just takes off like a rocket. in an attempt to undo this little problem, this weekend I did New timing belt, water pump plugs and valves adjusted. Service records indicate new Rotor, cap, wires 6 months ago. but the problem persists. Could it be they put in crappy wires? they're belkins. Also, maybe throttle body gunking up?
If you can crack this one, you will live on in the Integra Wizard hall of fame.

A couple potential fixes. Spark plug wires, fuel filter, injectors. Change the plug wires and fuel filter and run some injector cleaner through it. Could also be a faulty o2 sensor. Yes even if there is no check light.

wonder why it was that simple.. anyone care to share why? i thought bigger wires helped the spark.. which help the combustion cycle in the chambers better...

Does this make me an integra wizard hall of famer?

Bigger wires don't increase the spark very much at all. An 8mm wire is every bit as good as a 10.9mm wire. What matters most is the resistance. You aren't going to find anything much better than 50 ohms per foot. But the key is finding one that won't interfere with your radio and still perform that way. When a car is at lower RPMS like sub 3000 you get a spark for each cylinder fire. After that voltage is just constant to the cap and you won't notice the misfire anywhere near as bad. Injectors work the same way. More power to them and more constant. Which is why a clogged injector usually feels ok at high rpms but stumbles at low rpms.

If a connector/terminal thing (you know the gold metal part that sticks out at the end of your spark plug wires on the distributor end) was cracked cause this missing?
