Default do u think this is a good deal

i have access to a type r head for $1650 with type r intake manifold and head gasket do u think thats cheap or what, or spend my money on something else like a gude head what do u guys think i should waste my money on, im having a hard time deciding i want as many opinions as i can get thanks.

imho....i don't think its worth it...you're better off getting a complete first gen head or complete motor...they can be had for about $500-700, head are usually in the $300-500 range...add to that the ITR intake $250 add some good cams $700-900....you be putting alot more power then the ITR...

i second that,

you would be spending a lot more for the itr head than it would cost to buy a b16a head. and you could use the extra cash to buy some more goodies.

the thing is i already have a b16 head but it doesn't have dual valve springs i was gonna buy type r cams for 500 and valve springs would be another 250 so it would still be pretty expensive to beef up my b16 head and if i wanted to port and polish it that would be even more.

you will basically pay close to 1600 to modify you B16 to R specs. So either way it'll come close to costing the same. Say..500 for cams, 250 for springs, 250 for manifold, 250 for valves, the rest is on labor for P&P.

yeah that already totals 1250 and thats gonna cost me down time and the type r head is new also.
