Enter if you have Chipped SOHC ECU.
Well i have a guy who can do my ecu for my 91 sohc si crx.
he is known all over the world for chipping TDI's and other VWs. He is my uncles friend and he said he can get me up to maybe 15hp and some torque.
i was wondering if any of you had/have a chipped ecu in your crx? did you notice anything?
what else should i ask for? no rev limiter..etc?
im getting ready to swap, but i fiqured i do it since it was free

depending on the motor u got, u can have Turbo Edit on that ECU
u can see 15 hp gain,. but u need to tweak some other stuff also to get to it....
normally u can gain a 5 whp .... not bad....most power gains are thru the powerband and not at top end... sometimes u can or cant feel it
ALWAYS have a rev limiter... just takes a misshift, or a stupid thing (like the carpet moving and getting caught on the pedal) and the engien will overrev and KABOOM
if its a D16A6- 7000 redline is good
a D16Z6/Y8 7500 redline is good
any other D series 6800 redline

sorry, you are wrong. your tach is off. it has been proven numerous times by Jparker, a.k.a TurboEF9, a.k.a. creator of turboedit. It is written in hard code into the stock pm6 rom.
REV LIMIT 7413 RPM.

i agree with u
but on this world full of dumb people... u gotta be realistic
D16A6 (reasons why 7k rpms is good enough)
1- Engine doesnt make any more power at that point
2- engines safe stock rev LMIT is 7413 wich means the fastes rpm the crank can go before making any damage ( theres no need to go that high if the crank wont hold...... u will spuns bearings easy & i have)
3- is not a auto-X car, so theres no need to hug the 7000-7500 rpms band for power

Whaaa? It doesn't seem like it's that high, but then again I don't race it.

I would like to know how he came by that number. If I get a good answer, then I suppose I could see it being 7413. The hex rev limit value has to be equated to get to that number. I'm not too up on my PM6 code these days, nor have I had the chance to look at TurboEF9s prog yet. Anyone have a link?
