Default Wheels for ITR

Hello, i'm pretty new to the forums. I'm picking up a Nighthawk Black 2001 ITR this thursday and the guy i'm buying it from had put white 17inch rota sub-zero wheels on it. It looks decent. But not great, plus i don't like the size, i'd rather have 15's or 16's. My question is as follows. The first thing i want to do is get some new wheels. I'm going to go with another set of rota's to save money for now, or look for some oem ITR wheels(usdm). I'm stuck between the rota GT3's in red, 15 or 16in slipstreams in gunmetal with polished lip, or 15 or 16in c10's in bronze, or just oem wheels. I like the idea of 15's cause good tires can be had cheap, but I also think the red GT3's would look pretty bad *** on a black car. Please give your suggestions and any other inexpensive wheels that would look good. Thanks.

Fifteen-foot wheels?

On a black car, go with wheels that are gunmetal colored, or even brushed aluminum. Not bronze, and DEFINITELY not red.

I have seen pics of the GT3's on a black civic SI, and it looked sick. I think it would look pretty good with the red honda badges that the guy allready has on the car.

Any more oppinions?

As do i, that's why i'm thinking about a pair of bronze C10's or bronze sub-zeroes in 15inch.

I think red wheels on a black car look (a) ugly, and (b) like you're trying to make the car look like a ricemobile. It's called an opinion, which is what Curt was asking for, and that's mine. Maybe yours is different, and you are welcome to it. My opinion is that gunmetal wheels make the car look its best, and red wheels make the car look its worst (of the choices mentioned here).

I love the slipstreams with the polished lip on black cars. Bronze also looks great on black imo. Congrats on the purchase of the car any pics?

When i pick up the car thursday i'm going to bring it home, wash it and take some pics. It has a spoon sport's sticker across the top of the windshield that i want to remove. Other than that it's great. a tick over 23K miles with no internal mod's to the engine, car runs great. Got IHE, and tanabe coilovers. Everything else stock. Interior is in AMAZING condition.

Thanks for the opinions guys.

Yeah, it's a great find. I looked at a 98 CW ITR, but it had more miles than i really wanted and ended up not being in very good mechanical shape. This one is almost perfect, and still under waranty till the end of the year.

I think i'm going to get the window's tinted, install my current headunit and speakers along with an alarm, and look for some new wheels.

Thanks guys.

Once seen a NHB ITR with OEM white rims.

Looked good, nice contrast.

I like the bronze look though, more subtle in appearance.
