Which is the main relay on a 93 Accord?
Hi Gang:
I am looking for the main relay on my car and I see two "boxes that may be the main relay. The one box is a brown box that says TRW on it and another one is a black box to the left of the brown one. These are located above and to the left of the fuse box. The one that I want to check is the one that supplies fuel to my engine via teh fuel pump. There is also a box high up behind the dash where the driver's right knee is placed.
I am having intermittent starting problems where the car will not start at times. This may be due to the difference in temperature as suggested in the archives.
I would like to pull out the main relay and resolder all of the connections before I blame the fuel pump.
Speaking about the fuel pump, I can't hear it run when the key is turned to on/start position. I may take a voltage reading at the fuel pump to determine if it is getting 12 volts.
Any other suggestions??
TIA,
Zeke

Wouldn't make any difference.

Gray color box...to the LEFT of steering column above the cruise control unit, has printing that reads MITSUBA RZ-0088. Held in place by a 10mm nut on a long stud. You don't have to remove the case....just unplug it pop the guts out, then check the solders that go to the relay coils. A qiuck search of ANYWHERE will turn up a bazillion pages of info.
Best of luck I hope this helps you.

I though they were to the right of the steering column.

it is, if your laying on the floorboard looking up under the dash.
Its to the left if you are sitting in the drivers seat.
My car used to never start when it was hot, so I took that relay out, drilled about 15 holes in the case of the thing, and resoldered the conections. Works every time now even when the inside of the car is so hot you could fry an egg on the dash.
